Typo2 was born out of a desire for efficiency. For several years, many of our friends and colleagues carried two phones: one for typing and correspondence and an iPhone for virtually everything else. One night, we were out to dinner and both had our phones on the table.
Two people, four phones! We looked at each other and thought there was an easy solution to the problem, a keyboard for the iPhone. After ordering every iPhone keyboard available, we realized that there was no solution that worked well.
That’s when we decided to take matters into our own hands and Typo2 was born. After nearly two years of development, engineering, testing and feedback, we have created Typo2, an indispensible business tool that busy people simply can’t live without.

He built and sold one of the first on-line apartment listing services in the late 90’s, connected one of the biggest automotive consolidators in the country with eBay to offer bank financing when none was available, and most recently took a consumer tablet, built a Content Management System and deployed it as an advertising network reaching nearly 100 million people per year.
Ryan has built everything from steam turbines to roller coasters. He brings more than 15 years of experience in industrial design, mechanical engineering and manufacturing process and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Advanced Turbine Mechanics and Design.

According to Wikipedia, “A typographical error (often shortened to typo) is a mistake made in the typing process…The term includes errors due to mechanical failure or slips of the hand or finger..” For many of us at Typo2, typing on our iPhones is a slow, tedious one or two-finger affair. Our desire is to avoid making typos by using the Typo2.
When we set out to design Typo2, our goal was simple: create a keyboard and case that would add the absolute minimum additional length and thickness to the iPhone, while still providing protection to the phone and a butter-smooth, tactile typing experience.
The result is Typo2, which adds just short of a 1/4 inch in thickness and a less than 3/4 inch in total length to the iPhone, while still providing an unrivaled typing experience. This is made possible by miniaturizing the components on our circuit board, using our patented TYPOTouch™ keyboard technology and one of the world’s smallest Lithium-ion battery, measuring at just 1mm in thickness.
Both the hardware and software for Typo2 were designed and engineered in California & Utah. This product is manufactured and assembled in China by one of the oldest and most respected keyboard manufacturers in the world, who to date has delivered more than half a billion keyboards.
